Nasty Weed

Originally wanted to keep it for Tumblr, but my poor rate of posting on this made that I wanted to post it here too I'm re-designing a race, and it's been months I wouldn't come up with a satisfying design. This one looks pretty good to me, heh ?

If you wonder, they are more vegetable than animal ; they can use some weird fragrance to confuse the spirit of any living being, and are capable of fast regenerating. Among different powers, they can somehow "reshape" some of their limbs, changing their sizes or making spikes grow on it.

This species have a very wtf kind of story, so to make it short, they are "born "regularly from the roots of some unique giant tree (told to be the dead body of some forgotten war god) and, as they emerge from their chrysalis, are already full grown female adults, capable of reproducing with living beings. Kids born this way don't keep the "veggies" part of their mother, and can be either male or female. Genetics ? Welll pffff whatever ? This particular one looks psychotic, but I don't think most of them are.
